That sounds like something a friend of mine would say. [It sounds like classic Iroh. He ~~instantly ships it~~ finds himself trusting more in Ororo and her wisdom. He's seated and as close to comfy as he can be at the moment. And he nods at her.] Let's both drink this tea then.

[Because they both need it.]

[ She gives Aang a little smile, not sure how to take his demeanor today. Normally he was so full of life. What could he have to talk about that would warrant such a serious visit? ]

Now, what was it you wanted to talk to me about? [ She asks casually, summoning two tiny, gentle cyclones to send them over their cups of tea to cool them off while they speak. ]

[He actually smiles softly at the cyclones - he'd be a lot more openly amazed if not for his mood. But he quietly takes a sip from his cup.

Now... how to go about telling her?]

It's about Korra. You... You've known her, right?

Yes, I have. To a degree, I suppose. [ Korra had wanted space after Luceti Valley, though. Understandably, of course, but the distance has made it feel like she knew her less.

In any case, she frowns in concern. ] ... Is she alright?

[He gives a soft nod.]

She's alright. As far as I know... she's alright.

[She has a long journey ahead of her. As Aang understands it, she's still early in it. But he knows how it ends. That she'll stop the Equalists and peace will come back. And then that peace will probably stay... right? He takes a breath as he tries to reach the more difficult part.]

But... She's gone back home.

[ Ororo had just taken a sip herself, and was just putting her cup down on the table. At Aang's words, she fumbles her grip on the cup slightly, and a bit of tea splashes over the edge. She doesn't notice just yet, though, because... ]

I - home? Korra's gone home...?

[He frowns - and he makes some quick movements with his hands to send the spilled tea away so that she doesn't get burned or anything.]

Yes. I'm sorry, Ororo. It just happened today. We... She's not here anymore.

... I see. [ So, that's it then. Gone, just like Crystal, and Logan. Ororo clasps her hands together in her lap to keep her fingers from trembling. She takes a breath before looking back at Aang, summoning some sympathy for him. He knew her better than she did, so if anyone here was hurting... ]

I'm sorry to hear that, Aang. She will be missed.

[He sniffs softly and takes a moment to rub his sleeve across his nose.]

She really will be. [He takes a quiet sip from the tea before he looks back at her.] Ororo... Do you want a hug?

Oh, Aang... [ Ororo laughs quietly, and kind of sadly. But she gets up and joins him on his side of the couch. ] I think, perhaps, we could both use one.

[He gives a soft smile as he stands to face her.]

You're right, Ororo. [He spreads his arms wide to wrap around the older woman. In a good old-fashioned warm Avatar hug.]

[ And Ororo just returns the embrace, grateful for the comfort Aang offers. The X-Men weren't particularly huggers, after all. With Aang, it seemed natural.

She draws back after a few moments, smiling faintly blinking away the wetness in her eyes. She's a little shaken by how affected she is by this, so she tries to laugh it off. ]

... Thank you. For telling me, that is.

[With Aang, hugging often does seem natural. And his eyes are a bit teary as well as he pulls back to match her.]

You're welcome, Ororo. I- I just thought that you had to know.

It's thoughtful of you. Thank you. [ She repeats, patting his shoulder and sitting back down, this time next to him instead of across him. ]

I did not know that you knew about her knowing me...? [ A part of her wants to ask if she was mentioned by Korra, sometimes. But Ororo figures she's better off just not knowing. ]

I didn't really know before today. The thing is, Ororo... we couldn't find any letters or anything from her. The only thing we found was... this.

[And he pulls out the family photo to show her.]

[ Ororo peers over at what Aang's pulling out. But once she sees what it is, she goes rather still. Until he hands it over, and she reaches out to accept it silently.

She has a picture of her own, from then. She'd kept it in her room. After Logan left, she put it away so she wouldn't have to see it every morning. But here was another copy, one with the whole family at the ages she remembered everyone to be. And she found herself tracing a finger over her children, her husband and, of course, Korra's smile. ]

... She never mentioned... I did not know she kept something like this.

I didn't know either, before today. Was that during... Luceti Valley?

[It's the only explanation that makes sense. Aang looks up towards Storm sympathetically. And as she holds the picture, he tries to give her hand a gentle, reassuring squeeze.]

Yes. Korra was... we thought she was our daughter. [ She doesn't take her eyes away from the picture, nor does she feel Aang's touch. Ororo laughs quietly, and it sounds a little sad. ] She was part of our family.

[Their daughter. It hurts him to hear that. He thinks of Ikki and how it might feel if she was not only gone, but just some illusion.

And he speaks quietly]

She'll always be in your heart.
