[It had been midmorning when Ororo woke up and found herself propped up against a tree, forest all around her. She was slow in waking, blinking tiredly up at the trees, wondering briefly where she was and what had just happened and thinking how nice it was that all was quiet; noise would have only served to make the throbbing in her head worse... It takes a few moments for her to realize that there was something wrong.
She tries to sit up - failing that, she looks around hurriedly. Nature was rarely, truly quiet, she knew. She was in a forest - she should be hearing something, anything - the rustle of leaves, snatches of birdsong, or even a whisper of wind. Panicking a little, she raises a hand to call forth a breeze, relaxing only when she feels a wind blow through her hair immediately. She closes her eyes in relief; if they'd taken her powers from her, she wasn't sure what she would have done.
She gives herself a moment to breathe before looking around - and finds her journal with a pen conveniently tucked in sitting beside her. She could hardly call her teammates right now, but at least she could leave them a written note:]

[For anyone else: If you happen to be wandering the forested area behind the Barracks, you might spy one mutant weather witch slowly, carefully drifting through the trees - because of course she is going to try and make it on her own, anyway. Walking would aggravate the sprain in her ankle that she'd discovered when she tried standing - and she didn't have the energy to fly. Hovering was her next best bet, even if it took a lot out of her and meant taking frequent rest stops every few meters!]

Good morning. [Of course she's going to be polite about this!][action]
I hate to interrupt your morning routines, but [a pause here, because anyone who knew Ororo would know that she wasn't always comfortable with asking for help,] I may need some assistance in returning to the house.

Ben Grimm. Nice to meet you Ororo.
Where am I taking you?
[Action]
I'm sorry to bother you like this.
[She glances up, gives him an apologetic smile.]
[Action]
Not a problem. Just hang tight Ororo.
I'll get you home.
[Once she gives some sign of agreement he scoops her up, incredibly gentle despite his appearance.]
[Action]
But he's gentle about it, which surprises her. She gives him a curious look. He must be new; she would have noticed if he were around before, wouldn't she?]

[It wasn't like she could read his lips, but it was something. He didn't want to stop to write it out so he just shakes his head and looks as apologetic as humanly possible.]
[Action]
She gives him a wary look. Should she know him?]
[Action]
[It'd be a fun conversation, funner still made by the fact that 'Ro can't hear at the moment. He doesn't really look forward to it- Sue and Reed are better at explaining this sort of stuff.]

[He waits for a moment before setting Ororo on the first sofa he finds. Pulls the marker from his back pocket along with his journal and offers both to her first. If she had questions, it's better for her to get them out now.]
[Action]
Thank you for all your help, Ben Grimm. I do not know how to repay you.

[Action]
I don't mean to pry, but are you new to the village? [She doesn't remember seeing him around, and she couldn't have been gone very long, could she?]
Re: [Action]
[He shrugs and smiles all the same.]
Fell in about two weeks ago. Been doing my best to settle in. You?
[Action]
About a month, before I was taken. But I am not certain as to just how much time has passed since I was taken.

[He pats her on the shoulder with a gentle hand and stands to wander through the kitchen. Glass of water first, pillow for her feet, notepad, pencil. He's done this for Sue and the kids enough to know what Ororo might need or want close at hand. He's not gone long and he's sure to come around where she can see him before he starts handing everything over and setting things close by.]
[Action]
[Before long, she's writing something down on the pad he'd given.]
You've been very generous with your time, Ben. I was fortunate to have run into you when I did; not many people would be as helpful as you've been to people they only just met.
[Action]
[It's not what most people expect of him when they see him for the first time- but he's been like this for years now. Gotten a handle for how to move without causing trouble, helped Suzie with the kids. Can't be anything but careful and gentle around little kids and Alicia.
He offers a rocky grin and carefully settles down into the sofa across from her, testing his weight before relaxing. It holds. Good.]
[Action]
I'm glad I remind you of someone; it helps to have familiar faces in as strange a place as Luceti.
