[It had been midmorning when Ororo woke up and found herself propped up against a tree, forest all around her. She was slow in waking, blinking tiredly up at the trees, wondering briefly where she was and what had just happened and thinking how nice it was that all was quiet; noise would have only served to make the throbbing in her head worse... It takes a few moments for her to realize that there was something wrong.

She tries to sit up - failing that, she looks around hurriedly. Nature was rarely, truly quiet, she knew. She was in a forest - she should be hearing something, anything - the rustle of leaves, snatches of birdsong, or even a whisper of wind. Panicking a little, she raises a hand to call forth a breeze, relaxing only when she feels a wind blow through her hair immediately. She closes her eyes in relief; if they'd taken her powers from her, she wasn't sure what she would have done.

She gives herself a moment to breathe before looking around - and finds her journal with a pen conveniently tucked in sitting beside her. She could hardly call her teammates right now, but at least she could leave them a written note:]

Good morning. [Of course she's going to be polite about this!]
I hate to interrupt your morning routines, but [a pause here, because anyone who knew Ororo would know that she wasn't always comfortable with asking for help,] I may need some assistance in returning to the house.

[For anyone else: If you happen to be wandering the forested area behind the Barracks, you might spy one mutant weather witch slowly, carefully drifting through the trees - because of course she is going to try and make it on her own, anyway. Walking would aggravate the sprain in her ankle that she'd discovered when she tried standing - and she didn't have the energy to fly. Hovering was her next best bet, even if it took a lot out of her and meant taking frequent rest stops every few meters!]

[She sees that frown and shakes her head. Instead she raises her journal and writes a note to show to him - ]

I am having trouble hearing, Aang.

[He mouths an "oh" sound and sheepishly rubs his head. He then turns and scribbles into his own journal, then holds up the message.]

"I'm so sorry, Ororo. I had no idea! Is there anything I can do to help?"

It's all right, Aang. You couldn't have known. [She gives him a warm smile.] Could you point me in the direction of the village?

[He smiles and gives a nod of understanding. He starts making some steps in the direction of the village while motioning for Storm to follow.]

[Ororo smiles gratefully, before waving a hand up to summon a light breeze to lift her up into the air about a foot, following after him.]

[He looks back and sees her floating. He hadn't exactly heard about this power, but it would just slow them down to try asking her about it under these circumstances. Instead, he smiles. They can still have some fun.

So he pops open an air scooter and hovers slowly along on it.]

[Oh! Well, she hadn't heard about his power either, so that makes them even. She chuckles in surprised amusement though, giving the air scooter a curious look. That's such a clever trick!]

[Even though she can't hear him, he chortles back. And... making sure there's nothing in his way at least for the next few minutes, he turns him body around to face Storm while keeping the air scooter going in the same direction.]

[Ororo wishes she could hear herself speak! She suddenly has so many questions for Aang. For now she contents herself with gliding along carefully, letting him lead the way.

Except there is a low-hanging branch from a tree in his way! Ororo's eyes widen and raises a hand, intending to warn him...!]

[Aang's trying to remember what he told her the first time they met; it was mostly regarding the duty of being the Avatar. He doesn't think he went into his powers in more detail. But hopefully there'd be a time for more explanations. He himself had only heard about her power to make lightning.

He notices Ororo's shock and turns around - but too slowly as his face smacks into the branch. It tips him over backwards, but he he retains his balance on the air scooter and sheepishly grins back at Ororo.]

[She reaches out to him, stretching out an arm in concern. Is he okay? She places a hand on his arm, hoping he doesn't lose balance if he's dizzy from that bump.]

[It's not too dizzying - the air scooter just swerves a bit in each direction, but Aang stays mounted. He smiles up at her, but he tries to wave his hand to assure her he's fine. He's crashed into much worse ~~like during every opening credit sequence~~.]

[She just blinks in some mixture of surprised confusion and worry before frowning sternly. He should be more careful!]

[But Aang looks back her with his puppy dog eyes as if to say, Aw c'mon, I'm okay. I know what I'm doing.. ...And then he swifly ducks under another branch.]

[... Well. Ororo can't exactly say anything, so she just chuckles and shakes her head as she follows him carefully, at a slower pace. Kids.]
