[ Storm returns from her week-and-a-half long mission midday on the 12th. Well, she hadn't known it was the 12th when she came back, just that she'd been gone a while. The first thing she'd done when she got back was return to the X-House, but since Rogue had claimed dibs on the only bath in House 16, Ororo decided to indulge herself in an outdoor shower. She needed to find a relatively secluded place for that, so quickly she decides to detour to somewhere high above the flatlands beyond the forests where (hopefully...!) she wouldn't be disturbing anyone.

It'd been a while since she had done such a thing, bathing in rainclouds of her own making, and the mission had been long and tedious despite having Rogue by her side for much of the fighting... So she uses up most of the afternoon for herself and takes the scenic route home.

It's only after she returned to the X-House refreshed and energized that she thought to check the journals and realize belatedly that it was the 12th of January, today. That... gives her pause.

So, thirty years old. Strange; most women gave that number quite a bit of significance. It was supposed to be a milestone (or at least, that's what her sister told her) where by now she should be thinking about whether or not she was ever going to get married, have children or what kind of career she was supposed to focus on. Food for thought, she figured.

In the end, she decides to celebrate it with little fanfare. Evening finds her stopping by Good Spirits for a drink or two, dressed with a little more care than she would have taken on a regular day. She's warm and friendly for the most part, even if towards the end of the night she seems more introspective than normal. Feel free to approach...! ]

[Ororo looks up, startled, just because she wasn't really expecting to be joined by anyone tonight, let alone someone she doesn't know.]

I'm afraid I'm not the best of, ah, drinking buddies. [She smiles a little; she's not a casual drinker at all.] But I would not say no to the company, of course.

Great! [She'll plop herself down all ladylike in the next chair.] And don't worry about if you're the best or not - as long as you can keep me company, I'm all set! [And...if Ororo isn't much of a drinker, maybe she can keep Misato in check...!]

Well in that case, [Ororo raises her drink to Misato in a sort of toast.] Here's to hoping we have an enjoyable evening.

Cheers! [She raises her glass to carefully clink it against Ororo's, before bringing it to her lips for the first fiery sip.]

The name's Misato, by the by.

And I am Ororo. A pleasure to meet you, Misato. [Ororo smiles briefly before taking a little sip of her own. While it wasn't strong, it isn't her first drink of the night. So she'll be taking it slow.]

The pleasure's mine. [A casual sip from her drink.] So, what brings you to the bar tonight?

I suppose you could say that it's a special occasion of a sort.

[noexit]

A special occasion as in "it's Saturday", or a special occasion as in an anniversary, a birthday, some kind of victory to celebrate?

[calmbeforethe]

A birthday. [she admits, smiling a little.]

... And a victory of sorts, I suppose. I opted to try one of those small, volunteer missions that are offered to us. I returned this morning.

Hey, happy birthday!

A mission? You deserve to relax and have a good time after coming back from that. How did it go?

[calmbeforethe]

Thank you. [An easy smile.] And it went well enough. I went with a friend, younger than myself but hardly a veteran of these missions, and she seemed to think it went as well as it could have.

That's good to hear. I've been thinking about signing up for more of those, to help out. [A little laugh.] I don't mind earning the points, either.

[calmbeforethe]

The points are of little interest to me, for the most part. [Ororo takes a look around the bar, checking for who might be around to hear.] I have friends who have better uses for them, thankfully.

I haven't earned enough points to really do anything with them yet. If I can think of something that can benefit more than just me, I'll definitely go for that. It's not like I can't find anything I might need in the shops.

That's true. Though I must admit, some of things they offer in exchange for points sound quite interesting. I've heard there are some manner of protective items that help against the droids sent to kidnap us.
