Good morning, Luceti. My name is Ororo, known by some as Storm. Some of you might have seen me at the Battle Dome with my students. What I do is help people with special abilities learn control over their powers. In my world, we call these abilities mutations, as they are tied to a genetic anomaly in our DNA. But really, they aren't quite that different from the different sorts of powers many people here in Luceti appear to possess. 

Some of you might be familiar with my friend and colleague Wolverine, who has previously made offers to extend our help to those who want it. Well, I am here to reiterate that the offer still stands, and if any of you are in particular need of guidance or training in controlling such powers, we can do our level best to assist you. 

[ A friendly, open smile. ]

[ And true to her word, Ororo can be found at the Battle Dome for most of the day, as was the norm for the past week and half. Logan's still on his mission, so it's just been her (and Natasha, on occasion!) overseeing the various training sims for the X-Men and other interested parties. She's not an expert in hand to hand combat - that's Logan's deal - so a lot of the sims instead have had a focus on strategy and simulated rescue ops.

For those who aren't participating in a demo, they can catch her designing a program at the console. Tomorrow's a Friday, so for the team session she was thinking of perhaps setting up a game of all-powers-allowed volleyball. It would have been nice to play a game outside, with the weather so wonderful lately, but it runs the risk of being a little... rambunctious. Teenagers with powers kind of tend to be competitive, she's learned. ]

[ Late in the afternoon finds her returning to House 16. It's been a long day, and she still needs to tend to her garden! So she sees to that first before even thinking about heading inside for some rest. She hopes, vaguely, that the X-Kids have left some food of the not-junk variety, or else she'll need to make a trip over to Seventh Heaven for dinner. ]

Ahh. [ The girl from across the street. Ororo nods. ] I see. She still hasn't been returned? How long has it been now?

[wildbluevagner]

I think it's been... almost two weeks now.

[calmbeforethe]

[ That's pretty long. Ororo can see why he's worried.

She moves to sit on the grass, motioning for Kurt to come sit next to her. ]

It's hard, waiting for them to return. There isn't much we can do in the meantime, other than perhaps patrolling around the village and keeping an eye on the journals.

[wildbluevagner]

[He sits near her, his tail curling around his body nervously.]

Is that really all we can do?

[It's a change from back home, where they could save people. And be almost like superheroes.]

[calmbeforethe]

You can hope for the best. [ Ororo smiles gently, resting a hand on his shoulder. She wasn't religious - more spiritual, really - but she knew Kurt sometimes was. ] And be ready to take care of her when she returns. Sometimes they're hurt badly, or changed in some way when they return. It's important to be strong for them.

[wildbluevagner]

[He offers a light smile as his tail drifts over her hand. Belief... his faith has felt so distant in this world, it's been easy to lose sight of it. He'll pray for Suki. That's it.]

I guess you're right. And... she's a warrior, after all. I've gotta be stronger to match that.

[calmbeforethe]

[ She nods, letting his tail rest on her hand for a moment before drawing back a bit. ]

So... Suki's a warrior girl, hmm? Tell me more about her.

[wildbluevagner]

[He pulls his tail back around the same time and lets it wrap around his self.]

She's really great. She lives on an island that has a giant eel and she leads this whole group of warriors. The Kyoshi Warriors. They're different from us... They're just humans. No powers. But they know how to use fans as weapons. Fans.

[calmbeforethe]

"Just" humans, Kurt? [Ororo chuckles.] That shouldn't mean anything, really. One doesn't need exceptional powers just to be capable of great things. And it sounds like Suki is rather impressive herself.

[wildbluevagner]

A slip of the tongue. I guess I'm just not used to seeing people do that much without powers. But you're right. She is really great. She's strong and nice. She... she saw the real me, and she still accepted me.

[calmbeforethe]

That doesn't surprise me. I think more people would, especially after getting to know you, Kurt. You're very easy to love.

[wildbluevagner]

Really? It doesn't always seem so easy for people. [Mostly people he knew growing up, who made him think resort to hiding himself in the first place. And the one who abandoned him before that all.]

[calmbeforethe]

Well, it is their loss for making such quick assumptions of you. They did not know what they were missing. [ Ororo reaches out to clasp one of his hands in her own, giving his fingers a little squeeze. ]

[wildbluevagner]

Maybe you're right. [He smiles softly as he feels the squeeze.] They're really missing out on some high-quality fuzz.

[calmbeforethe]

Indeed. [ She gives his hand a final pat before rising from where they were sitting on the grass. ] Now, I don't know about you, Kurt, but I think I could use something to eat. [ A moot statement, if she ever knew one. Kurt could always use something to eat. But she heads for the kitchen, fully expecting for him to follow her in. ]

[And he follows her in.]

Man, I'm famished! You have no idea how many burgers I could eat right now.
